This day we have designed to give you an introduction to the Tuscan countryside, it's people, history and the culture. We will share with you firsthand the origins of Tuscan produce which is the soul of this land's cuisine by visiting one of the nicest vineyards ion the Vald'Orcia valley . This is the region where the world renowned 'Brunello' wine is produced. This will be an authentic travel experience visiting the charming medieval villages of Montalcino & pienza, admiring impressive castles and witnessing centuries of history whilst driving through the green Chianti valley, the Sienese Crete which is famouse for it's red earth and the magnificent Val d'Orcia valley.
This tour is available from Monday-Friday only due to the olive oil mill visit but if you wish to do the same tour with a second wine tasting then it can be organized on a Saturday.
We will start from Florence in the morning and stop for coffee at a small, fortified town in Siena for a while.
From here the tour passes by some lovely towns and countryside along the ancient postal route that extended from Rome to Paris. You will drive among vineyards of those wineries where the most famous wines are produced. We will stop at a very noble and historic family-owned-winery, which has been passionately producing the Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino for centuries. We will then break for some nice lunch in a typical trattoria of the area and you can take a relaxing walk around the village of Montalcino, enjoying the most beautiful views of the area.
We will then continue to drive between the rolling clay hills and vineyards and pass the Monte Amite, to stop then in Montenero. We will visit an Extra Virgin Olive Oil producer, where we will see how the Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made and also learn how to taste it, grasping every single perfume and aroma, amidst one of the widest views of the Val d’Orcia area.
There will be a total of 3 oils to taste and also you will be served some bruschetta and taste another Brunello wine.
The day then is complete and you will return home by 5pm. |
