The Spa Village
Made popular in the 19th century, the Terme di Casciana is covered in pine trees and wild flowers. This is an old town and dotted with ancient towers and trails, little churches and woods. Everyday nearly 6 million liters of water goes round the baths and pools of village. The water maintains a constant temperature of 36 degrees C. There is evidence of people, both young and old alike, coming here for the thermal water since the early 12th century to cure respiratory and rheumatic problems.
Today the waters still draw a number of people every year. The establishment has been modernized to keep with the times but it still retains it medieval charm. A Wellness center, a Rehabilitation center, swimming pools, comfortable rooms and all modern conveniences we are spoilt by have been added.
