This is an amazing luxury country villa which originally was part of a convent that dates back to the 13th century. Villa Cypress is ideally located on the outskirts of Florence and can be reached from the downtown area in 15 minutes. The structure has been completely transformed into a magnificent private luxury villa yet maintains much of it’s original charm. This holiday villa has been furnished with period pieces and the attention to detail is obvious. Both the villa and it’s grounds are well equipped with all of the comforts and accessories to grant you a wonderful stay. On the ground floor you will find a covered terrace with a dining table for 12 where you can enjoy views over the olive grove and a lovely meal ‘al frescoe’. The kitchen contains a large dining table for 12, an industrial, stainless steel stove, oven, large fridge/freezer and the original stone fireplace. Just outside the kitchen you have a reception room/ lounge room with a fireplace and piano, and lounge seating for 10. Features like books, TV, and a grandfather clock make this room a lovely place to relax. There is also a feature of the original bare stone walls. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom that opens through double doors onto a private terrace with a small table for 4. This looks out onto the gardens and pool area. There is also a twin bedded room, and a small living room with a sofa bed, stereo, magazines and a wood burning oven. There is a large bathroom with a bath, shower, WC, bidet and a double wash basin. Stairs lead upstairs to the first floor where there is a spacious reception/formal dining room with a fireplace, television, small library and a second, completely equipped kitchen. On this floor there is a double bedroom, and two twin rooms, 2 bathrooms with shower (one has a double wash basin), small WC. On the second floor there is a double bedroom, with a beautiful antique chest and large wardrobe, a bathroom with bath, shower and double wash basin. Outside you have a swimming pool (6x10) with a changing room and shower. There are enough sun chairs, umbrellas and tables for your entire group. Another covered terrace is by the pool where you can also enjoy eating with views of the Duomo. The well kept grounds measure 6.000 m2, with beautiful wisteria, palm trees, an orchard, barbecue and an ancient 600 year old silk tree. From the property you have views of Florence, Settingnano and Fiesole. You will have a security key for the front gates.
