Podere Pienza - Pienza, Siena

Villa Podere Pienza a luxury short stay vacation rentals holiday villa with a pool in the countryside of Siena, Tuscany, Italy. Podere Pienza is located in an area that is still untouched by tourists. This area is popular for its appearances in postcards, books and calendars. There’s a lot to do here because of its proximity to Siena, Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico; the antique thermal baths of Bagni Vignoni and San Fillipo. Florence is an easy day trip. Nearby, there are many stunning medieval villages that have been restored to perfection and still maintain the original beauty and lifestyle of the Tuscany of years gone by.
The 300 m2 house has been beautifully restored. Split into 2 levels, the house has a huge open living room that has accesses to the terrace with outdoor furnishings for dining and relaxing. The house is adorned with fine Tuscan country furnishings.

There is a double bedroom and a full bathroom accessible from both the bedroom and living room. A few stairs lead to the first floor with an open dining/ kitchen with high ceilings, wooden beams, original terracotta floors and open fireplace.
There is a door from the dining room leading to the exterior staircase.

To the right, there is a door that separates the sleeping area. There are 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom between them - it has a tub and shower.
There is another door to the left another door that leads to 2 more bedrooms and bathroom with shower. The 3 bathrooms are accessible from all rooms. (2 bathrooms have a bathtub/shower/bidet and handbasin; 1 bathroom has shower, WC, bidet and hand basin)

All bedrooms have screens on the windows.

The house has beautiful views of the medieval towns surrounding the property, the valley and fields with Mount Amiata as backdrop. The Pool area has lounges for relaxing.

The Garden has Cyprus trees, roses, lavender, ginestra and a large pine – which are so typical of the area

You have a wide range of activities to choose from. There is something for everyone. You can enjoy cycling, tennis, walking, horse riding, or go trekking, swimming or indulge in thermal spas. There are plenty of museums, local festivals that will keep you occupied throughout your stay.

The property is located between Pienza and San Quirico (5kms from each town). There is also a small village at 1.5 kms, which has a bar, Pizzeria and one can also get small goods here. There are many superb restaurants in all these towns. At a distance of 3 kms you can find the antique thermal baths of Bagni Vignoni and a village boasting of the Roman remains, enoteca's, restaurants, pizzerias, breathtaking views and quaint shops.

Podere Pienza is located in the middle of a nature reserve, where there are pheasants, deer, hares, owls and other wildlife.

At 20kms there is the town of Mount Amiata. The area is a gastronomic heaven producing cheeses (famous pecorino cheeses of Pienza). You can get fresh handmade pasta, some of the best and most noted wines of Italy, truffles, the famous Porcini mushrooms, wild boar and the Chianina meat.

Driving through this area is a treat in itself, with Cyprus lined rolling hills spotted with medieval villages and towers. You can also see large country homes and a constant changing landscape depending on the crops of the season.

The locals are very proud of their land and are very hospitable, friendly and relaxed. The villages are charming, characteristic and full of history and culture. Small shops with local produce and artifacts line the shaded stone lined streets. The villages grasp onto the history of the region with honor, celebrating all the medieval and local festivals as they have done for centuries.

For the wine lovers one can sit outside and taste the famous wines of the region at many of the enoteca ‘s and bars. The enoteca also serves meals, platters of cheeses and cold cuts (prosciutto, salame etc.).

From he one can easily make day trips to Florence, Siena, Cortona, Montepulciano, Montalcino and venture over the hill to discover the magnificent coastline of Marremma only 40mins drive.

Perugia, Cortona and Arezzo are all within easy reach from Podere Pienza. Rome is one and a half hour’s drive.
